On the outskirts of the city of Nablus lies the village of Balata, home to both an ancient archaeological park and the largest refugee camp in the West Bank. Overcrowded conditions as well as high unemployment, poverty, and food insecurity are some of the many challenges of life in this camp. Despite these conditions, Balata camp has a large number of active community organizations working to improve the lives of residents.
