Handmade and hand-painted by the Fakhoury family in Hebron, Palestine, the dish reflects the family's long tradition of pottery—aptly, as "Fakhoury" means "potter" in Arabic. Their shop, located in the old city of Hebron, faces routine physical and verbal harassment from Israeli soldiers and settlers. Despite these challenges, the Fakhoury family remains committed to keeping their store open and preserving their craft.
