Among the many embroidery styles of Palestine, Tahriri stands out for its elegance and design freedom. Originating from Bethlehem and Beit Jala, this technique is crafted using couching stitches — long threads laid gracefully on the fabric and secured with fine, perpendicular stitches. Traditionally, artisans used this stitch in silk or metallic gold threads on deep velvet, adorning bridal gowns and festive attire. The word “Tahriri” itself means "liberated," a fitting reflection of the Palestinian spirit and artistic resilience. Every flowing line in this embroidery tells a story of grace, patience, and identity carried through generations.
These tea towels are made from traditional mansouri cotton, woven in Hebron and are hand-stitched with care by women artisans in the West Bank. Dimensions: 24" x 17.5"
