Nisf Jubeil Ceramic

Tucked between mountain valleys, Nisf Jubeil is a small Palestinian village northwest of Nablus, with a population of just a few hundred people. Located within the hilly countryside is Nisf Jubeil Ceramic, a ceramic laboratory that aims to revive traditional pottery and ceramic handicraft in Palestine through training and education. Established in 2015, Nisf Jubeil Ceramic was built as part of the community initiative to increase tourism in and around Nablus. They operate out of a beautifully restored traditional building, complete with a guest house just at the edge of the village. The project is led by and employs women from the village and generates steady incomes that can support them and their families.

Each ceramic piece is handcrafted by the skilled women of Nisf Jubeil and is inspired by the village’s beautiful landscape and culture. Each brushstroke is delicately hand-painted, making every piece of pottery a work of art rather than simply just a functional item.
