We named this is design in honor of the Jaffa Oranges of Palestine. The Palestinian Jaffa Orange, particularly the Shamouti variety, which was known for its sweet taste and easy-to-peel skin, originated in the mid-19th century in Ottoman Palestine from Arab farmers. The industry thrived, becoming an important symbol of Palestinian prosperity and land ownership. After the 1948 occupation of Palestine many Palestinian citrus groves were confiscated and became state property. The Jaffa Orange is one of many examples of Palestines’s cultural and historic heritage.
Made of unbleached Mansouri cotton fabric made in Al Khalil/Hebron.
