Inspired by Palestinian mothers seeking refuge and their struggles to create a safe haven for their babies, this blanket arose as a reminder of the mothers’ endless and unwavering love for their children and the desire to protect them. The words of the lullaby are rooted in the memories and convictions of the artisans and exemplify being thankful for a newborn, along with the tradition of offering something to drink to those passing by. It is a soft, double-layer cotton blanket with mostly green embroidery and cheerful orange and yellow stitches, featuring patterns from both Beer Al Sabe’ and Gaza.
