A beautiful example of Palestinian artistry and cultural heritage, these exquisite baskets have historically served as utilitarian yet decorative tools of daily life used to hold and carry fruits, vegetables and bread. Each one-of-a-kind basket is handwoven by skilled artisans in the West Bank.

New artisan for ShopPalestine is Salma Bozeye, Founder and Director of Beit Al Turath, in Salfit area. For more than 15 years, Salma has been buying the straw (olive and wheat) from local women, dyeing and drying it, and making these beautiful baskets. She also offers three to four trainings each year on basket making Palestinian style helping to provide an income source for local women.
