Handwoven Trivet (5.5”)

Beautiful and practical, these colorful handwoven trivets are a miniature version of our large traditional saniya (tray). As a trivet it can be used under hot dishes as well as displayed on the wall. Each piece is a one-of-a-kind design, rich in cultural heritage. 

These baskets are made by women in the organization, Bait Alturath in the Salfit Area of the West Bank. The Founder and Director is Salma Bozeyeh who has been making these beautiful baskets for 15 years. She leads 3 to 4 trainings per year on basket making from straw and wheat in traditional Palestinian designs. She is inspired to preserve  authentic Palestinian heritage while also helping to support local women.
