Hoodie: Tatreez Watermelon Design

Black, hooded sweatshirt screenprinted with tatreez watermelon design. Back is a solid color. Representing the colors of the Palestinian flag — red, green, white and black — the watermelon, or ‘bateekh’ in Arabic, has become a global symbol of Palestinian identity and solidarity. Here we combine the bateekh with the Palestinian art of tatreez, a form of cross stitch embroidery that has historically adorned traditional Palestinian clothing.
