A valuable wood species, olive wood is harvested from branches of olive trees that have been pruned at the completion of olive-picking season. It takes a six-step process and 45 days for a piece of wood to become a beautiful piece of art. Skilled craftspeople spend six to seven years in training in order to become professional craftspeople.

Hand carved by artisans from the Holy Land Handicraft Cooperative, a certified fair trade cooperative in Beit Sahour.
