This olive-colored, hand-embroidered t-shirt features a variation of the traditional “Moon of Bethlehem” tatreez motif and was created through a collaboration between Nablus Kuffiya and women tatreez artisans in the West Bank. Known in Arabic as “Qamar Beit Lahem,” the Moon of Bethlehem is a traditional geometric Palestinian embroidery motif originating in the Bethlehem region. The pattern symbolizes guiding light, spirituality, and a deep connection to Palestinian cultural identity.
Nablus Kuffiya
Nablus Kufiya, a textile business in Nablus, has recently started collaborating with Palestinian women embroidery workshops in Dar Abir and Dar Hiba to incorporate traditional Palestinian tatreez into its keffiyeh and clothing collections. This collaboration produces beautiful, high-quality, handmade products while providing Palestinian women with fair, sustainable income and helping preserve Palestinian tatreez for future generations.
