Support Palestinian Craftspeople

MECA and Joining Hands have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s annual Palestinian Holiday Crafts Bazaar for the health and safety of our volunteers, shoppers, and staff.

Even though this wonderful event is cancelled, you can still support Palestinian families struggling to protect their land and their heritage under occupation. Unemployment and poverty levels are rising dramatically in Palestine, as intermittent lockdowns are enforced to prevent the spread of coronavirus and tourist groups have stopped visiting. The talented producers of these crafts have so few opportunities to sell their work—one artisan estimated his business was down 80% so far this year with little hope for change in the coming months. MECA purchases these items from farmers, artisans, and cooperatives all over Palestine—please take a few moments to browse our selection of gorgeous products.
