Pot Holder - Sabr

The word for cactus in Arabic is ‘sabr’ which translated means ‘patience.’ Strong and resilient, sabr is a symbol of Palestinian rootedness, endurance, resistance and hope. Hand drawn in Gaza during unimaginable conditions of the current genocide, this beautiful artwork was created by illustrator Hiba Abu Kwaik for Bokaj and then hand printed and sewn in Bethlehem. 

Bokaj is an initiative that aims to preserve and promote Palestinian heritage by reimagining and implementing elements of Palestine's rich cultural legacy. Bokaj creates modern, practical pieces that serve today's lifestyle while presenting the artwork of local Palestinian artists focusing on supporting the local community.
